I found this movie to be one of Christopher Nolan’s best. Ultimately, Insomnia is a fantastic psychological thriller that has a lot more to it than meets the eye. It is high levels of stress and themes of moral ambiguity are perfectly executed due to the stellar cast, fantastic editing, and gorgeous contrasting cinematography and music. The acting by both Al Pacino and Robin Williams as crooked characters in their own form is unparalleled.
What I loved most about this film is the short, quoted sections spoken by Al Pacino himself. For instance, "the second you're about to dismiss something, think about it..." It is a form of foreshadowing, and yet, they are memorable words the criminal LAPD cop holds true to himself.
